The American Studies Association of Texas will welcome Robert Craig Bunch as Keynote Speaker for its 61st annual meeting, November 9-11, 2017.
Mr. Bunch, who earned an MLS from Sam Houston State University (1992), has served as an educator for twenty-five years and has an extensive background in both library and museum studies. His presentation will include a discussion of The Art of Found Objects: Interviews with Texas Artists (Texas A&M University Press), winner of the 2016 Worldwide Books Award for Publications, sponsored by the Art Libraries Society of North America
Bunch’s book, 18th in the Joe and Betty Moore Texas Art Series, includes sixty-four previously unpublished interviews with artists of varied backgrounds and visions who share personal reflections on their influences, motivations, methods, philosophies, as a way of fostering a unique understanding of their creative human expression.
